ABOUT ME
Nsimba Valene Lontanga develops creative strategies + concepts and consults for institutions, brands and individuals. She is an ambassador of female empowerment and social change. Based in Amsterdam working worldwide.
She is a trend researcher, creative strategist and brand consultant who focuses on cultural shifts, cross industry collaborations and new world building. Her work within the cultural, fashion and business landscape seeks to build bridges through inclusive storytelling, aiming to create truly divers, social and aesthetically pleasing solutions that resonate with a modern and wide audience.
She is the former trend researcher at Vlisco Group, where her work focused on consumer driven brand innovation, researching style and culture to encover trends that define the future. A result of her bachelor degree in trend research and concept development at the Fontys Academy for Creative Industries.
Valene initiated a range of projects and talks in Africa and Europe, focused on creative (sub) cultures, the black beauty space and women empowerment. She collaborates with the public library of Amsterdam, through her research and production studio Anothertable, pushing new African stories forward. And coined the slogan ‘the future is female and African’ through her women’s wear LIBAYA.
In turn, Nsimba has been featured and profiled by platforms such as Marie Claire France, I-D Vice, Okay Africa, to being selected as Glamour’s July 2018 ”Game-changers’ and Vogue’s Dutch hero in 2022. She is currently writing her debuut book ‘Meer dan Modemeisje’ (More than Fashion girl), a manifest redefining fashion and beauty cultures, which will be published by Uitgeverij Pluim in Amsterdam.
